The matrics are writing their final exams. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Good luck to our learners!

The municipal manager has advised the ward councillor that the issue of refuse collection has not been resolved as yet. More information will be provided as soon as Umdoni has it. Community members are urged to keep refuse in until Umdoni gives notice of resumption of refuse services.

Cllr Edwin Baptie advised that he met with the consulting engineer for the road rehabilitation project. The current phase is targeting some of the priority roads submitted for attention and is to be completed with road marking and signage by the middle of December. These roads are Pennington Drive, Umdoni North, Whale, Dolphin, Savell, Robert, Marlin, Shark, Oceanic, Saville and Preston. Paving on Pennington Drive is scheduled for this coming week.
The next phase will be pothole repairs from the balance left in the budget, on a priority basis. This phase is for completion by March 2023.

R&M Construction will deposit more material at the same site next to Relton Hall for use by residents who are able and willing to do pothole repairs. Cllr Baptie will arrange for materials in Park Rynie, as well as for residents who are prepared to assist with repairs. Minerva Road has been repaired by P&G Construction. Cllr Baptie will submit a priority list for pothole repairs starting in Park Rynie north to Pennington. The clean up and improvement programme under Tidy Towns Pennington is gaining momentum. The Nkomba beach site has been transformed under the management of Mark Davy. “We are making a difference to our environment and our community, through constructive involvement” – Edwin Baptie.
