In my view: We all have had more than enough

It's also very tiring to be complaining about the same thing all the time, I am really starting to sound like a broken record.

I am tired! Tired of not having basic needs – water and electricity.

I am sure everyone is tired, I am even tired of being tired.

It is one thing or the other! If it’s not water, it’s back to load-shedding and now something called load-reduction. I don’t know if not having electricity from 05:00 to 17:00 is still load reduction or am I being taken for a ride.

Thanks to the floods as well now, there won’t be an end to these water issues (not that it was getting any better) but it has made things even worse.

It’s also very tiring to be complaining about the same thing all the time, I am really starting to sound like a broken record.

I get annoyed and irritated just thinking of what we are facing.

Again this morning I woke up to no water and no power, at this point in time I had no emotion whatsoever, I just felt numb.

I had to breathe in and out then think what to do, just a reminder I have little boy who needs to bath so he can go to school and a 78 year old grandmother who needs a cup of tea before she even opens her eyes.

This life is ridiculous man! This is not what I signed up for.

Now while I’m struggling with my own problems at home guess what?

I come to work, every day I get a call from a resident complaining about water as well.

Before I respond to any call I say a little prayer because I am honestly drained by this water issue.

I understand the media is one of the ways people can get their grievances heard but can the community be a little bit nice and respectful?

I know people get a chance to vent to us as the media but can people also keep in mind that we are also experiencing the same issues, and even so we still give it our all to help.

If anyone had to go through our emails and phone register, they would know how much we do just to get a response so that we can let people know what’s going on.

We also rely on the municipality, other government departments and so forth to have something to tell people.

All I’m asking for is that people be a little more courteous to us and know that we know exactly how they feel.

And some friendly advice, whoever is able to afford a water tank please get one, and if you haven’t got one save for it because you will need it, oh and a gas stove, it is now a necessity for everyone.
