OPINION: ‘Water situation has not improved in eight months’

Funniest of all, is that we need job creation here especially in the tourism industry, but what tourist would happily visit us at risk of being in a water deprived environment?

DEAR Editor;

Another beautiful, albeit an overcast day on the South Coast and as a precursor to the day’s (last Sunday) activities, no rooster crowing but the mechanical whirring of my neighbour’s water pressure pump.

Guess what – no water in the Ugu pipes again, so unless you have a private reservoir, no bath or shower before church today. No matter the promises spouted by those in the big chairs, nothing has really improved in the eight months we are here and the variety of excuses given over the phone are no longer believable.

Funniest of all, is that we need job creation here especially in the tourism industry, but what tourist would happily visit us at risk of being in a water deprived environment?

Not many people that I know of, would want to top and tail at this point in their grownup lives!
