In My View: Be thankful if you haven’t fallen sick

I would get annoyed by silly things and felt tired all the time.

I have been sick before but not for this long and not this bad.

This flu got me really bad, I was on and off from work and felt terrible.

If you have not had it be grateful and thankful.

I would get annoyed by silly things and felt tired all the time.

With all that pain and sickness I feel so much better now, even though I am not totally fine, but I’m much better.

Some people might have thought I had Covid and I would not blame them because I had similar symptoms.

A lot of people have been getting sick and thinking it’s Covid until you go for a test and it comes back negative.

So my advice is to take care of yourself and take all the necessary vitamins.

While we are at that, I see KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) is now leading with the stats of new Covid infections.

This is scary and frustrating, the way the numbers have just picked up and reached the peak.

Already, we will be celebrating Christmas without our loved ones, family members that we lost a few months ago.

We are still trying to heal from the loss and the pain we have endured.

At the same time I guess it makes sense why KZN has became hotspot with infections.

As much as we are still facing the pandemic, however people need a break.

People from other provinces have come here for a break and some fresh air (not sure if it’s fresh).

I guess that is one of the reasons why our stats have gone crazy because of the number of people that are here and testing here.

Our visitors must just be very careful and try not to be out and about as much, especially those who come from provinces that had high infection rates.

I’m sure I’m speaking for most families when I say this Christmas will be a very emotional one and after this it will never be the same.

Some have lost their spouses, parents and children and during this family time we will feel the pain of not having that person around.

I lost my aunt in September whom we loved dearly, she held our family together.

I know for a fact we will share tears on Christmas day because her presence meant so much to us.

With all that said, I wish each and every family a Merry Christmas and hope that God visits our families again but with joy, happiness and peace this time around.

May God continue to protect each one of us and keep us strong.
