Umdoni Christian Academy’s athletes shine

Well done to all learners.

Umdoni Christian Academy learners earned a number of medals at the KZN Christian Schools Sports Association athletics championship held last week.

Results are as follows
* Boys U9 turbo javelin: Mtwazi Sithole placed second place with a throw of 20.42m, and Divan van Rooyen placed third with a throw of 20.15m.

* Girls U12 javelin: Olivia Cox earned a bronze medal with a throw of 19.88m.

* Boys U13 high jump: Reece Ruiter jumped 1.46m and secured third place.

* Girls U12 high jump: Olivia Cox placed second with a jump of 1.34m and Langelihle Miya earned bronze with a jump of 1.34m.

The Pratts – Joanna (left) and Grace had a great time on the field.

* Boys U12 high jump: Simphiwe Jiji clinched first place with an impressive jump of 1.41m.

* Boys U10 high jump: Seth du Plessis claimed gold with a jump of 1.23m and Blake Killoran earned second place with a jump of 1.20m.

* Girls U14 discus: Simone Nel secured second place with a throw of 16.88m.

* Girls U7 cricket ball throw: Evie du Plessis took first place with a remarkable throw of 24.20m.

* Boys U10 1200m run: Blake Killoran triumphed with a time of 4:26:15 and placed first.

* Girls U8 turbo javelin: Tatum Cox won gold with a throw of 12.64m.

* Boys U17 high jump: Thando Zwane secured third place.

* Girls U10 shot put: Grace Pratt placed second.

* Girls U7 80m sprint: Evie du Plessis finished third in 14.73 seconds.

* Boys U13 100m sprint: Reece Ruiter placed third.

Athlete Reece Ruiter placed third in the boys 100m sprint.
