‘Service above self’ for Sheppie High’s Interact Club

The Port Shepstone High School Interact Club is a remarkable group of learners dedicated to making a positive impact on their community.

From volunteering at events like the Lions’ Club fun run to raising funds for charities like the St Vincent De Paul Society, the club’s members go above and beyond to help those in need.

One project is the Pink Rose Foundation, which aims to improve women’s access to feminine hygiene products. By organising sanitary drives and donating collected items to high school learners, the club ensures that every young girl has the essential products she needs to feel comfortable and confident.

Beyond their community outreach efforts, the club also fosters personal growth and development among its members.

Through activities like the IFA Lethu Project Camp, students gain valuable knowledge about conservation, wildlife and environmental issues.

The club’s dedication to ‘service above self” is truly commendable.

“No money in the world could be as rewarding as the feeling of helping someone in need,” said Amélie Harel.
