Girl power rules at Jai Hind

Acting principal Bhavashni Kanhai expressed gratitude for the community's support.

In an inspiring celebration of Women’s Day, Jai Hind Primary launched a transformative ‘Girl Power’ initiative aimed at empowering and uplifting its 263 female learners.

Designed to foster self-esteem, self-care and etiquette among the young girls, it was a resounding success thanks to the support from the community, local businesses and parents.

Acting principal Bhavashni Kanhai expressed gratitude for the community’s support.

“The kindness and generosity we received allowed us to extend our reach far beyond what we had initially imagined. The smiles and joy we witnessed from these young girls, many of whom rarely receive gifts, made it incredibly special,” she said.

The initiative not only provided practical items but also served as a powerful reminder to these young women that the world is full of endless possibilities for them.

The day was filled with activities designed to build their capacity to believe in themselves, reinforcing the school’s commitment to nurturing confident and empowered young women.
