PS Islamic uplifts with spiritual recitations

A programme included heartrending renditions and inspirational messages from the Quran by learners.

Learners at Port Shepstone Islamic School participated in a spiritually uplifting programme entitled ‘An Evening with the Quran’ last Friday.

The programme included heartrending renditions and inspirational messages from the Quran by learners.

Abdullah Patel, Uwais Ameen and Riyadh Khamissa represented the school at the Association of Muslim Schools Quran Recitation Competition held at the Verulam Islamic School last Saturday.

They recited along with 20 other schools that participated in the programme and benefitted immensely from the experience.

The final leg of the Port Shepstone Islamic School’s annual inter-house athletics that took place last Sunday at the Marburg Secondary grounds saw athletes from Yasmeen and Warda houses go through their paces.

Excited learners sprinted from the start to the coveted medals that awaited the victors at the finish.

The foundation phase races and the field events were concluded earlier in the week.

In the final tally, Yasmeen House took the honours. Teachers and learners are thanked, along with the sponsors, donors, helpers and spectators, for their contribution.
