New leaders for PS Secondary

The newly appointed senior management team is wished well.

Two Department of Education dignitaries officially handed over appointment letters to two dedicated, senior management members in front of both the teaching and non-teaching staff of Port Shepstone Secondary on Monday this week.

Yogavanie Chetty, an advocate for the power of public education and a goal-orientated visionary, welcomed her leadership role as principal.

She matriculated in 1992 at Umzinto Secondary and undertook her tertiary studies at the University of Durban Westville.

By 2005, she had assumed a leadership position at Port Shepstone Secondary as Departmental Head of Commerce and her worth was, again, recognised in 2019 when she was appointed deputy principal, and then later principal.

With powerful leadership qualities, deputy principal Dennis Naidoo received his appointment with enthusiasm to join the committed and professional team.

He matriculated at Shakaskraal Secondary in 1994 and completed his tertiary education at Springfield College of Education in 1997. In 2019 he assumed leadership of the Department of Commerce and as acting deputy principal in 2023.

The staff, school governing body and learners wish them well as they continue the legacy of this cherished institution synonymous with quality educational achievement.
