Sheppie High applauds achievers

The class of 2023 passed the torch to the upcoming matrics.

Port Shepstone High School held its annual prize giving ceremony last week, to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the matric learners.

Acting principal Kerry McKillen delivered an encouraging speech, congratulating the class of 2023 on facing the challenges of the academic year and wishing them well for the final NSC examinations.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Dux award to Mishka Maharaj for her exceptional academic achievements. She received the subject book prizes for Accounting, English HL, Afrikaans FAL, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences and Mathematics and a total of eight trophies.

Thalitha Mzobotshe was awarded the Sportswoman of the Year, while Jardel Faro clinched the Sportsman of the Year trophy. The Good Fellowship trophy, which was voted for by the matric body, went to Sinobabalo Ncanyiwa.

The outgoing head prefects, Gcinwayinkosi Jula and Sibususiwe Msimanga, bid a heartfelt farewell to the class of 2023, passing on the torch to the next generation of leaders. The evening was an enthusiastic celebration of both academic and extracurricular achievements at Sheppie High.
