Creston excels on all fronts

Creston College's first hockey team received a kit sponsorship from Pat Symcox from REMAX and Dr Astlynn Pillay from MD24.

The school holidays were a busy time for many of the learners at Creston College.

Some high school learners, with teacher Tanya de Bruin, had the adventure of a lifetime as they enjoyed their history tour through Germany, the Czech Republic (Prague) and Austria (Salzburg).
Pre-primary teachers Lynda Kuhn (PP head of phase) and Amanda Stewart stitched together over 700 knitted and crocheted squares received from the school community into 41 blankets as part of the school’s Mandela Day initiative.

These, together with 29 blankets received from a grandmother in Gauteng, were donated to the El Roi baby home at the Genesis Care Centre in Marburg.
Zaiah Dennis, Luyanda Ngidi, Lily Currie, Luzuko Pangwa and Mihlali Hlomza were selected for KwaZulu-Natal schools’ hockey teams and played in the inter-provincial regional tournament at Hilton during the holidays.
Daniel Davies was recently selected to represent Ugu in tennis, and played in Durban over the weekend.
Kira Attfield and Tatum Krishna attended the World Champs for Disco in Chomutov, Czech Republic.
Emir Sahli and Sarah Sahli did exceptionally well in the Karate South Africa KSA SA Championships.
Grade 1 learners also had a celebration for completing 100 days in Grade 1 last Friday, dressing up as 100-year-old people, and spent the day doing activities about the number 100.

Matrics also made memories last Friday night as they enjoyed their Matric Dance at the Packshed.
The school also received sponsorship for the first team hockey, from Pat Symcox (Re/Max) and Dr Astlynn Pillay (MD24).
