The learners and volunteers recently started working on their vegetable garden.

Hlanganani Preparatory School and The Roots and Shoots programme, founded by Dr Jane Goodall, which is a global movement of passionate youth, focuses on bringing youth together from across the planet to work together and create the change the world needs for the environment, animals and people.

Hlanganani Preparatory School has taken steps to help learners prioritise healthy foods. The school will work with learners and the volunteers from Roots and Shoots to start a functional vegetable garden. And to teach learners about the environment.

A plot of land was recently made available in the school yard, where crops will be grown. The learners and volunteers recently started working on their vegetable garden.

The aim is to plant amadumbe, sweet potatoes, onions, cabbage, spinach, tomatoes and potatoes.

The learners will be monitoring the growth and maintain the garden.

Learners also enjoyed a Fun Friday a week ago, with plenty of sunglasses and silly glasses helping them to look to their future.

The school photos will be taken on May 3. A reminder that the school is open for registration for 2024.
