Izotsha learners do well in swimming, cricket

Grade 1 to 3 swimming teams competed in the inter-schools relay gala at Southcity where they swam exceptionally well and tied with Southcity in first position.

Izotsha Primary School participated in the Southcity relay gala against many Lower South Coast schools recently.

The team (Grades 4 to 7) did exceptionally well achieving third position overall, being beaten by Warner Beach in second place and Southcity in first position. The team was complimented on their excellent behaviour.

The U13A and B cricket teams played against Suid-Natal. The U13A team lost by 4 wickets. Rayne Riley made 19 runs off 34 balls and Andrew Cornhill took 4 wickets. The U13B team won their match by 34 runs. Izotsha batted first with Morgan Mackie scoring 25 runs. Ruben Swanepoel and Morgan Mackie each took 4 wickets.

Grade 3A + B boys’ cricket teams played in a mini cricket tournament at Southcity. The A team won their match by 20 runs, while the B team narrowly lost their match by 6 runs.

A further mini cricket tournament was hosted at Southcity for the Grade 1 boys A team. They played 2 matches, losing their first match by 8 runs and their second match by 6 runs.

The Grade 1 to 3 swimming teams competed in the inter-schools relay gala at Southcity. Swimmers swam exceptionally well and tied with Southcity in first position.

Grade 4 to 7 learners watched a visiting drama production company present ‘Face in the Mirror’. The learners enjoyed the show where important life skills were learnt – believing in yourself, others and team work.
