Southcity swimmers qualify for KZN trials

The College swimming team has swum in two relay galas placing third and sixth.

Southcity Christian Schools has had a great start to the inter-schools swimming season.
Twenty four Southcity swimmers have qualified for their SKZN schools swimming colours, and 18 of them have qualified to attend the KZN Schools swimming trials.

On February 14, the Senior Primary team swam in the individual gala at Curro Creston – our swimmers did exceptionally well with Southcity winning by 100 points. Kal-El Vermeulen – U12 Boys age group winner (1 record), Julia Wichmann – U11 Girls Age Group winner and Junior Victrix Ludorum (1 record), Keagan Ramos – U11 Boys Age Group winner and Junior Victor Ludorum (4 records), Nathan Hartmann – Open Boys Age Group winner and Senior Victor Ludorum (1 record).

On February 15, Southcity hosted the SKZN High Schools’ Champs gala –Southcity won by 144 points with 11 records broken on the day all by Southcity swimmers. Jayden Vermeulen – U14 Boys Age Group winner and Victor Ludorum (4 records), Alex Labuschagne – U15 Girls Age Group winner and Victrix Ludorum (3 records), Hanna Parry – U16 Girls Age Group winner (2 records). Leah Scott also broke 2 records.
The College swimming team has swum in two relay galas, placing third out of 10 at Curro Hillcrest and sixth out of 10 schools at the gala at Ashton Ballito. Well done to all swimmers, your hard work is paying off and we are proud of all of you.
