Margate Primary wins soccer challenge

The first schools soccer tournament hosted by Port Shepstone Senior Primary was a huge success.

Port Shepstone Senior Primary School hosted a successful U13 boys soccer challenge at the school last Saturday.

The event is a first for the school and it looks forward to hosting it annually.

Twelve schools participated. In Group A: Marburg Primary, Izotsha RA Engar, Port Shepstone Senior Primary, Louisiana Primary and Port Edward Primary

Marburg Primary was the runner-up in the tournament.

Group B included Jai Hind Primary, Merlewood Primary, Creston College, St Martin de Porres, Hlanganani and Margate Primary.

Margate Primary was crowned champion of the tournament and the runner-up was Marburg Primary. Two players were also acknowledged for their outstanding performance and awarded trophies.

Port Shepstone Senior Primary principal Noel Baker thanked all schools for taking part in the tournament and congratulated the winners.

“Covid-19 has robbed our youth and this soccer challenge is an opportunity for our young boys to showcase their talents, to make new friendships and above all to have great fun.”
