Hospice Pink Drive in over drive

The hospice team has been working hard to create cancer awareness and has been equally busy offering its services to the community.

Locals are reminded about the ongoing Pink Drive efforts of Khanya Hospice.

Khanya Hospice has, for many years, been able to get people involved in arranging fundraising events for the organisation (such as this drive) to help keep its doors open.

Sr Veronica Freegard, the chief sister in charge at Khanya Hospice, urges everyone to purchase pink material to wrap anything from a pole to a tree to create and spread cancer awareness.

“Ladies, you can even wrap your man in pink,” she said.

The hospice team has been working hard to create cancer awareness and has been equally busy offering its services to the community.

“We are also encouraging men and women to have themselves tested as early detection can save a life,” she said.

“There are many people who can testify to this, and there are numerous survivors. People hide and shy away and don’t want to talk about cancer. We fully understand that, but please, should you suspect anything wrong with your health, go and see your doctor.”
