Diwali show soon

Two separate Diwali shows with loads of fun and entertainment will be hosted on October 26.

Diwali or Deepavali will be celebrated on Thursday, October 31.

The Port Shepstone Hindu Cultural Federation will host the annual Diwali Show at the Andhra Sabha Hall on Saturday, October 26.

This year promises to be an exciting event with a variety of entertainment, sketches and cultural activities for young and old.

The day will begin with a float procession and cultural activities in the Port Shepstone CBD and ends with light lunches and snacks being served.

The evening event will host a popular band as well as local artists with a fun-filled line-up.

The federation is still negotiating for the approval of an aerial fireworks display, which will be the highlight of the event.

* The Shree Hanuman Sanathan Dharma Sabha Mandir will host its Diwali celebrations at the mandir on Saturday, October 26, from 16:00 to 23:00.

It promises to be loads of fun as the temple members have planned a number of events. The festivities kick off with a colourful float procession from 08:30 through Albersville, Protea Park, White City, Palmview, Marburg and Oslo Beach.

The main festivities will be held at the mandir from 16:00. Entertainment will be provided by local, talented musicians, singers and dancers, as well as guest artist Mahan Sedhary, who is a musician, singer, drummer and comedian.

Hot meals will be served in the evening, with lucky draw prizes and gifts up for grabs. A fireworks display will be held at 21:30.
