Bendigo welcomes Carole Potter as chairman

Carole Potter, the new chairman, invites all to attend the monthly meetings to find out what is happening in the area.

Bendigo Residents’ and Ratepayers’ Association (BRRA) from Sea Park in the south, including Southport, Anerley, Sunwich Port, Melville, and Pumula in the north, is pleased to announce a new chairman.

Carole Potter is a well-known South Coast resident who has always been active in the community through voluntary work with various organisations, including the CPF, as well as in her professional capacity as a travelling physiotherapist. With her extensive experience in municipal and government structures and systems, she brings a wealth of invaluable knowledge to the organisation.

Potter takes over from Chris Viljoen, who has been an active and committed leader for quite some time. She invites all in the area to attend the monthly meetings to find out what is happening in the surrounding area, as well as to have a say and, therefore, an impact. The association has a Facebook page and a WhatsApp group to keep residents informed of service delivery issues. They have a team actively working with municipalities to keep residents informed and to ensure water, roads, streetlights and sanitation issues are resolved as quickly as possible.

Bordered by the Mtentweni River in the south and the Ntshambili River in the north, with the N2 in the west, Bendigo boasts a Blue Flag beach and a protected nature reserve. In addition to Tidy Towns, they have an active youth group and are developing a business forum to encourage local support and co-operation.

By working together, they build community and each other, restoring dignity and instilling hope in all residents in the lovely village Bendigo.

The BRRA meets in the second week of the month at Marlon Park in Sunwich Port and welcomes input from all residents. For details, please contact the secretary, Davina Campbell, on 083 3087362.
