Don’t miss a delightful teddy bear’s picnic

Bring family, friends, teddies and other favourite soft toys.

The August Wednesday Walk and Unwind walkers found a ‘charming pink rabbit’, aka Dave Lucey, in the Ivungu River Conservancy forest last month.

Lucey, the conservancy’s vice-chairman, welcomed the walkers and reminded them that he would lead the teddy parade at the Teddy Bear’s Picnic in the conservancy’s picnic ground on Saturday, September 28, at 11:00.

Don’t miss this old-fashioned family picnic.

As well as the teddy parade, there will be story-telling, children’s poetry readings, a treasure hunt and a prize for the classiest picnic.

All are invited to bring their own teddies and favourite soft toys to join in with their picnic and participate in the teddy parade. There will be prizes for the oldest teddy, the most interesting teddy, the best homemade teddy and even a fun prize for the classiest picnic.

The conservancy also invites all to bring along any unwanted teddies or other toys that are still in good condition for their collection box. These will be joyfully rehomed to less privileged children.

Entrance is a donation to the conservancy.

Bring along a picnic hamper, chairs and picnic blankets. For more information, call Sarah on 083 3313866.

* The next Wednesday Walk and Unwind takes place in the conservancy on September 25 at 15.30.
