Head office visit for Stonecroft

The Shelly Beach Methodist Church was abuzz as guests of Stonecroft gathered to welcome the women from Stonecroft Ministries Southern Africa head office.

The Methodist WA spoilt guests with tea treats to delight any palate.

Elaine Daly, the Southern Africa chairperson, shared how Stonecroft started with an American bank manager inviting one of his staff members home for dinner and a chance for him and his wife to share their love for Jesus and try and answer the many questions she had.

This grew, with more people wanting to join in these dinners, until eventually, they started the outreach known today as Stonecroft or Christian Women Connections.

Now, 51 years later, Stonecroft is still growing in Southern Africa.

“A joyous morning of talks, music, and tea treats as guests fellowship is a monthly delight for many of the locals, and all are invited,” said Vanessa Howard-Tripp, local chairperson.

“We strive to present topics of interest and for our guests to leave with a good message and a happy smile.”

Lorraine Kotze, Bible study director, advertised the many studies available through Stonecroft.

From those knowing nothing about Jesus to those well-versed, there is study material for all.

Jill Sumption, the vice-chair, gave her testimony. “God is good all the time. Regardless of where you are in life, it is never too late to ask forgiveness and seek God,” she said.

Harvey Gilliard shows that it’s not only women who attend.

Lee-Ann Buhr and her daughter Emma once again had the guests singing along to old favourite tunes.

Lee-Ann’s outgoing personality and beautiful voice, accompanied by her talented musical daughter, lifted the joy and spirit of the morning tea.

“We are blessed to have such wonderful people on our coast,” said Vanessa.

The morning tea with be on at Shelly Beach Methodist Church on September 20 at 09:30.

Fee is R50 per person.

Miladys will host a fashion show, and Shirley Oosthuizen will share on a recent mission trip to Botswana and Zimbabwe.
