Indigenous plant fair this weekend

A large selection of indigenous plants will be on offer at excellent prices.

Are you looking for plants to freshen up your garden this spring?

Then, visit Durban’s longest-running plant fair, the Botanical Society KZN Coastal Branch Indigenous Plant Fair, this Saturday and Sunday (14th and 15th) from 09:00 to 16:00.

The fair returns to the beautiful setting of the Durban Botanic Gardens at the Visitors’ Complex. Experts will be on hand to assist.

By planting indigenous plants and trees in your space, you can help to join little corridors of life together for pollinators and other critters to move through.

And in so doing, you’re supporting Mother Earth’s natural processes. Don’t miss this chance to choose those indigenous plants that will create a garden, balcony or flower box that’s quite simply humming with life.

A large selection of indigenous plants will be on offer at excellent prices, and your involvement supports the BotSoc plant conservation projects.

Talks will be held in the hall at 10:00 and 12:00 on both days. Guest speakers are Jonathan Foley and Elsa Pooley on Saturday and Elsa Pooley and Nikki Brighton on Sunday. Informative books will be on sale, and wildlife and conservation exhibitors will have information tables.

Entrance and parking is free. Park at the Plant Fair designated parking at the end of the long driveway to Durban Botanic Gardens from John Zikhali Road, entrance opposite Greyville Racecourse.
