Four residents have been left homeless after last night’s fire at Anchors Aweigh
Clr Tessa Perryman said three of the units belong to permanent residents, while the others were holiday homes.

“The four residents who lost their homes have been rehoused for now, and have cooked meals for the next two days,” she said.

Perryman praised the community for their overwhelming help and support in this tragic situation.
The following items are urgently needed to help the people affected:
* Men’s clothing
* Shirts large and medium
* Pants 30 and 36
* Shoes 7 and 8
* Toilet paper
* Toiletries
* Washing powder – hand wash and auto
Perryman said that anyone who would like to donate can drop off items at the Anchors Aweigh gate with Eric, the guard, and they will collect and distribute everything evenly.
Perryman said cash donations would be greatly welcomed as the affected residents have lost all their furniture.
” Sadly most units do not have insurance on household contents,” she said.
