Clothes for premature babies

The group does it out of the love in their hearts.

Bowlers 4 Babies was started over 11 years ago to make and distribute clothes for babies born to underprivileged mothers on the South Coast.

“We make up starter baby packs and give out 46 each month to the maternity ward at Murchison Hospital,” said Wendy Walker.

Various women knit, crochet and sew to make up baby jerseys, hats, booties, leggings, quilts and blankets. They receive no outside sponsorship and rely on private donations.

The group recently gave out 42 packs of clothes for premature babies to the neonatal unit at Port Shepstone Regional Hospital.

If anyone would like to knit or sew with them or donate wool or material, contact Wendy on 082 7855062.
