Wild Coast Sun’s Peter Tshidi leaves soon

He started in the hospitality industry as a luggage porter at The Palace of the Lost City, Sun City.

The man who became popular on the South Coast for managing Wild Coast Sun, Peter Tshidi, is going back to his origins.

Tshidi started working at the Wild Coast as the Complex General Manager in May 2019 and is now in his current role as Regional General Manager for Sun International.

Tshidi’s new title started in July, and he has been acting in both positions since.

His last day with the Wild Coast will be on August 31.

Tshisi says that he has lived on the Coast for over five years, and it’s been an incredible journey for him.

“The beauty of the scenery and the serene ambience of the ocean has been nothing short of refreshing. There have been smooth sailing days and stormy waters, but all in all, it’s been a fulfilling and adventurous experience. It’s amazing how much beauty and pure joy this life on the Coast has offered me. The people and the culture have really added colours to my life,” he said.

Tshidi says he started in the hospitality industry as a luggage porter at The Palace of the Lost City, Sun City. He then worked as a switchboard operator at Emperors Palace, where he was promoted to night auditor.

He has steadily risen through the ranks, taking on roles such as Operations Manager at Inchydoney Island Hotel and Spa in Ireland.

“I returned home after 12 years as a Complex Operations Manager at Boardwalk Casino in Qheberha, and then General Manager at Thaba Moshate, Group Manager- efficiency and optimisation Sun International.”

His career has been marked by continuous growth and a series of promotions, indicating a successful and dynamic career in the industry.

He studied Hotel and Tourism Management with Fáilte Ireland, Ireland’s national tourism authority based in Galway.

So even though the hospitality and tourism sectors were among the hardest hit by the pandemic, Peter and his dedicated team have steered the Wild Coast Sun ship through the worst of the storm.
