The Widenham Retirement Village birding group recently went on an exciting birdwatching expedition at the Umbogavango Nature Reserve on the South Coast.
The event drew several new members as well.
Participants were in for a treat as they identified a host of vibrant species, including the elusive pale flycatcher, spotted ground thrush and the striking red-backed mannikins.
The sighting of a dark-backed weaver and a moorhen building its nest added to the day’s memorable highlights.
