Rescued eagle makes full recovery

A few weeks ago, the eagle was found bobbing at sea in the mid-South Coast area.

The juvenile crowned eagle rescued at sea several weeks ago has made a full recovery and was recently released.

In late June, the eagle was found bobbing at sea in the mid-South Coast area. It was rescued and taken to Scottburgh Veterinary Clinic.

At the clinic, it was treated by Dr Jonathan Clark, who said it was in shock, as well as being dehydrated.

Thereafter, the eagle was passed onto Crocworld Conservation Centre, where it stayed until fully recovered.

It began eating more regularly and was soon in good health once again.

On release day, Clark was present to do a final checkup.

FreeMe Wildlife tagged the eagle for research purposes before it was safely released.
