Mamba nabbed in Gcilima

Mambas are around; in fact, they mate during winter.

Snake catcher Sarel van der Merwe and his partner, Emma-Jane Cox, recently travelled to Gcilima to assist residents who had a black mamba near their home.

When Sarel received the call for help, he and Emma quickly jumped and drove to assist the community in need.

The large mamba was high up in a tree, close to a home, but Sarel managed to grab the snake from high up in the tree and get it safely into a special snake travel box.

Residents praised Sarel, thanking for him for his bravery and skill in catching the snake.

“We are so relieved. We are grateful for your service. Thank you, again.”

Another resident said they would certainly give Sarel a call if they find the snake’s mate.
