Sewage work repairs in progress

There's some good news for Uvongo residents.

In some refreshing news, work to fix Margate’s dire sewage situation is in progress.

Ugu District Municipality’s spokesman, France Zama, said repairs on the Nkongweni streamline crossing pipeline to Margate 4A from 3A are underway.

“Testing and commissioning of Margate 3A should be ready by end of August 2024,” he said.

Further good news is that the Uvongo No 2 pump station is now operational.

Uvongo No 3 rehabilitation is also in progress and is anticipated to be back online by today.
