A bush fire broke out in Leisure Bay earlier today, in the Bristol and Torquay area.
It’s believed firefighters have been battling this fire since around noon but have apparently struggled with limited resources.
In a video, which has circulated on social media groups, a woman can be heard appealing to the community to take precautions, and to assist wherever possible.
It’s unknown at this stage as to the extent of the damage and or threat to human or animal life.
Official comment will be sought as soon as is possible.
