Umdoni workers down tools – town’s rubbish remains uncollected

Residents and businesses are requested not to take out garbage until the municipality advises otherwise.

There has been an interruption of municipal services in the Umdoni area due to workers downing tools since Tuesday this week. Community members are most concerned about the refuse services being halted, which has resulted in heaps of garbage piling up in various areas. Residents and businesses are requested not to take out garbage until the municipality advises otherwise.

Local councillors have stated that it would be best to keep the refuse within one’s property for the time being.
Councillors have been keeping the community updated via WhatsApp groups.
