Pageant entrant aims to inspire young girls

She entered the pageant with the belief that she can inspire the youth, more especially young girls.

Ntombenhle Nobuhle Ndovela (22) from KwaNzimakwe has entered the Miss KZN Queen pageant.

She said that Miss KZN Queen advocates for mental health, which she believes is essential to individuals who cannot voice their needs.

“We raise awareness and educate people about mental health conditions; we also foster a culture of understanding and empathy to reduce the stigma around mental health.”

She entered the pageant with the belief that she can inspire the youth, more especially young girls in her community, to love, respect and value themselves.

“I want girls in my community to learn about leadership and not to let societal norms dictate to them.”

The competition will take place at Austerville Community Hall in Wentworth on July 13.

Ndovela is currently in her final year of a Bachelor of Education degree at the Durban University of Technology.
