Don’t miss Mpenjati Eco-Festival on June 29th
The motivation and vision of the festival is to create awareness and knowledge around the importance of eco-friendly living.
The Mpenjati Eco-Festival is once again on track for 2024.
It will be a one-day event filled with activities on Saturday, June 29.
This mid-winter date, with its balmy and generally rain-free weather, makes for an enjoyable outdoor event focusing on the various attractions within the Mpenjati Nature Reserve and surrounding protected areas.
The motivation and vision of the festival is to create awareness and knowledge around the importance of eco-friendly living and contributions as everyday citizens towards biodiversity protection, social development, eco-tourism and community conservation.
Hosted by the Mpenjati Honorary Officers (HO) group in partnership with Mpenjati Conservancy, the 2024 Mpenjati Eco-Festival will be based on the north bank of the reserve, with some activities starting at other areas within the reserve. The day will be made up of a programme of activities such as demonstrations, walks, talks and activities for children. These will take place at specific times.
Representatives of various conservation-orientated organisations and nonprofits will be present along with interest stands focusing on the supply of off-grid technology, sustainable living and recycling.
The message remains the same – to engage with and inspire communities to appreciate the value of wild places and to live more consciously and in harmony within the environments.
Refreshments will be available for purchase, or visitors are welcome to bring a picnic or use the braai areas and make a full day of it.
Entrance fee to Mpenjati Nature Reserve is R30 per adult and R15 per child.
