Stonecroft contemplates the Easter cross

SCH Local News | Chad Broom, more fondly and widely known as Uncle Chad, gave a beautiful interpretation of the Easter Cross: The Two Crosses.

Fashion filled the walls of the Shelly Beach Methodist Church as local models thrilled the audience with winter outfits from Edgars in the Shelly Centre.
Stonecroft‘s ever-so-entertaining ‘models’, Elvi Venter, Yvonne Booysen and Heather Greyling, were joined by Nobuhlu Shusha, Pheallo Maroba and Thulisile Sonsele of Edgars.

Shades of autumn seemed to dominate the fabric palette, with a few splashes of lime green, emerald green and cerise pink.

Brilliantly coordinated outfits were well presented by Lynette Koekemoer, manager of Edgars, assisted by Saras Anamalay.

As always, a feast of tea treats awaited the guests, who thoroughly enjoyed the platters before them, catered by the Shelly Beach Methodist Church WA Ladies.

Ria Hackland leads praise and worship.

The Easter Friday Cross: used to impose the most torture one can endure for the longest time possible.
A symbol of justice being done to those who committed the worst kind of crimes, but here being imposed on one totally blameless and undeserving of such punishment, even by the opinion of their weak ruler.
On this cross, Jesus died. Nailed and bleeding until He was dead.

The Easter Sunday Cross: the empty cross. More importantly, an empty tomb.
No longer subject to man’s rules and cruelty, but resurrected. Alive. He had finished His task on earth.
He had come to save mankind from their sin and reunite them in peace with God.
He paid the price no one else could. Now, He prepares a place for those who receive Him in heaven.

Ria Hackland ended the morning with two beautiful songs of praise and worship, with the guests joining in heartily.
