New plumbing academy launched

Many present shared their memories of how Mehen and his wife Karmen Sewpersadh started their plumbing business back in 1998, as well as their success in the industry.

Guests from far and wide attended the official launch of Plumbing Academy KZN hosted by Silver Solutions 1273 CC at Umdlalo Lodge in Umtentweni last Monday.

Many present shared their memories of how Mehen and his wife Karmen Sewpersadh started their plumbing business back in 1998, as well as their success in the industry.

“Worldwide tradesmen are in high demand, with plumbing being the most sought after skill in any trade. We at Plumbing Academy KZN provide the highest quality skills development. We also mentor you upon exit and once you have been placed in your workplace. We have state-of-the art workshops and all our training is done in a practical, simulated working environment so that you can apply your skills with ease in your workplace,” said Karmen.

So how do they do it? All their students will spend adequate time in learning areas doing theory and spend lots of time in the workshops doing practical work that simulates the real environment, with direct supervision, guidance and mentoring.

Rendani Tshivhula from the Plumbing Industry Registration Board was the the master of ceremony.
