Innovative sewing campaign launched

The campaign promotes women empowerment.

Al Jama-ah, a political organisation, is thrilled to unveil its sewing campaign that not only empowers local women in Umdoni, but also supports cooperative enterprises and small businesses within the community.

Al Jama-ah will be providing materials and resources to local co-ops and small businesses engaged in sewing activities. This initiative aims to amplify the impact of the campaign by strengthening existing enterprises and creating new opportunities for women to thrive in the field of sewing.

“We believe in the collective power of collaboration and support,” said Cllr Asghar Khan, chairperson for Al Jama-ah Villagers League and councillor in Umdoni.

“By supplying materials to co-ops and small businesses, we aim to catalyse sustainable growth within the community and uplift women through economic empowerment.”

The campaign’s approach goes beyond skills development, focusing on creating a supportive ecosystem that nurtures entrepreneurship and collaboration. By fostering a network of co-ops and small businesses, Al Jama-ah envisions a resilient local economy where women can actively contribute to their financial well-being.

“We invite the community, businesses, and stakeholders to join hands with us in this transformative initiative. Together, we can make a lasting impact in the lives of Umdoni’s women and contribute to the growth of local businesses,” added Khan.
