Creche benefits from food drive

Non-perishables, baby food and other essentials were collected by Shelly Centre on behalf of South Coast MMA Silverback Academy.

Bhoboyi-born MMA champion and founder of the South Coast MMA Silverback Academy, Nkosi ‘Disaster’ Doyisa recently partnered with Shelly Centre, to collect food for a creche in the area.

The collection was done over the festive period and was handed over to Khethokuhle Creche last week, as schools have reopened.

Doyisa said the creche looks after babies and toddlers, aged one to five, and does not receive government support.

“Non-perishables, baby food and other essentials were collected by Shelly Centre on our behalf and we are grateful,” said Doyisa.

He said this was not the first collection the academy had initiated, the first was for a homeless shelter in Assisi, Oshabeni which was also a huge success.

Doyisa said he hopes that this initiative will be ongoing as many NPOs and NGOs on the outskirts of the South Coast are in need.

“I thank the South Coast community, Shelly Centre and the trainees for supporting and contributing towards this worthy cause. Anyone wishing to give can still do so by contacting me on 078 5470161,” Doyisa added.
