Vet to speak at conservancy group

Dr Peter Ardington has been a veterinarian, conservation farmer and environmental activist for more than 40 years.

Bendigo Conservancy Group invites everyone to their first talk of 2024.

Dr Peter Ardington will talk about regenerative land management plus much more at Leka’s @ B Cubed on Hazel Road, Southport on Sunday, January 21 at 14:00.

Dr Ardington has been a veterinarian, conservation farmer and environmental activist for more than 40 years.
His special interest is the regenerative and productive management of veld resources. He has consulted on nature reserves, livestock farms and in situations combining crops and livestock, and game and livestock with the aim of upgrading degraded veld and pasture.

He is currently a trustee of the Jonny Lowe Memorial Trust which focusses on environmental education experiences for high school learners.

He has spoken at agricultural and veterinary congresses, conservancies, grassland congresses, farmers associations and to cattle breeders and farmers, with an emphasis on regenerative farming.

Dr Ardington has worked to improve management of cattle and veld on Zulu common land with business, government and traditional leadership cooperation.
He has served as member (1981 – 2001) and President of the South African Veterinary Council (1994 – 1998), part time lecturer and external examiner at the Veterinary Faculty, University of Pretoria and as a member of South African and International Visitation Teams, monitoring the quality of Veterinary Education in SA, UK, Namibia and Australia.
