Lace up for fight against cancer

This shades of pink event promises to be an opportunity not to missed.

Lace up and come show your support in the fight against cancer next month.

South Coasters, as part of KZN, will celebrate the survivors, support the warriors and remember those who lost the battle with the National Lace-Up for cancer initiative.

Madeleine Pretorius, provincial director of South African Animal Cancer Association (SAACA) for KwaZulu-Natal accepted the challenge by Salome Meyer of the Cancer Alliance Association to pilot a group of people, to show that the South Coast community can stand together in unity.

Individuals in the community, schools, and other cancer organisations will take part by arranging their own event in aid of raising funds for cancer.

The official event will be held at Wild Coast Sun on February 17 at 09:00. The R50 entry fee will go towards cancer.
Madeleine invites all organisations, individuals and businesses to get involved.
There will be golf, beach volleyball, one and two kilometre run or walk, yoga, zumba, aerobics, horse riding and artists from Art by the Sea will be painting artwork in pink.

“This shades of pink event promises to be an opportunity not to be missed, where you can do your part for cancer while having fun,” said Madeleine.

She thanks the community for their enthusiasm and is very excited to have many businesses and radio stations already onboard.

Madeleine says that the community of Port Edward is hosting a trail and mass walk in the main street as arranged by Melissa and Nikkita Welman.
