Pop up store benefits needy families

Families were able to choose clothing for adults, children and babies, as well as food, shoes and more, all free of charge.

Over 1 500 people benefitted from non-profit, Ignite Revolution’s Christmas store at Oribi Plaza.

The organisation’s Jessica Naicker said Bargain Wholesalers generously allowed the use of a store at no cost as it was for a good cause.

“The purpose was to provide relief to families in need. Families were able to choose clothing for adults, children and babies, as well as food, shoes, baby food, baby blankets, nappy bags, diapers, wet wipes, kitchenware, and toys for their children.

“All the products were new and free of charge. Families who benefitted were from Port Edward, Ramsgate, Margate, Shelly Beach, Oslo Beach, Nyandezulu, Marburg, Merlewood, Sea Park, Sunwich Port Hibberdene, Umtentweni, Southport, Murchison, Mkholombe, Bhoboyi, Izingolweni, Oshabeni, Izotsha, Albersville, Protea Park, White City and Palmview.

Naicker said 1 050 toys were distributed in December. She thanked sponsors and donors for their generosity.
