Road closures: Permits required for residents

Annual road closures and access control by Ray Nkonyeni Municipality Law Enforcement into the Uvongo/St Michaels residential area will take place on the following dates: December 24, 25, 26, 30 and 31 and January 1 and 2.

As the coast prepares for an influx of visitors for the holiday season, it’s important to take note of the following road closures.

Annual road closures and access control by Ray Nkonyeni Municipality Law Enforcement into the Uvongo/St Michaels residential area will take place on the following dates: December 24, 25, 26, 30 and 31 and January 1 and 2.

Most of the roads leading into the residential area will be cordoned off and only one entrance and exit point has been identified for residents to enter and exit the demarcated area. Residents residing within the demarcated area must produce a permit to enter. No permit, no entrance.

Permits can be obtained from the Pick a Fish shop on the corner of Marine Drive and Crown Road.

To residents and holidaymakers, using the beachfront road on Margate beach (Panorama Parade/Harley Road) to access their apartments and houses, roads will be closed on December 26, 27, 31 and January 1.
