Care group pampers elderly

Pro Deo is a non-profit organisation caring for the elderly in the community.

Residents of Anerley Haven were treated to their last monthly pamper clinic for 2023 by volunteers from the Pro Deo Care Group last Thursday.

Mary Sanesy from Pro Deo said that during their monthly visits, residents have their blood pressure and sugar tested, weight taken and nails and feet pampered.

Always willing to help is volunteers Barry Vanstone and Shane du Toit of Pro Deo.

Residents and visitors were entertained by children from the Emseni Orphanage and by musician Mitchel Sanesy.
The session always ends with a short devotion by the administrator, Brent Staples.

“Each resident received a small gift sponsored by small businesses from Port Shepstone. Thank you for your generous donation,” said Mary.

Mary said that monies are raised through various community events, such as; cycling tours, quiz evenings and raffles – for example

She thanked all the volunteers who so graciously give up their morning to come and make these residents feel special.
