Eight Girl Guides were awarded their Chief Challenge Awards this year.
This is the highest award in Guide level between the ages of 10 to 14.
Their leader, Panda Jolene Evans recently awarded Amber Jantjes, Eliana Annapan, Kay de Jager, Krittika Ramlall, Natasha Fifitini and Tamishka Gansen.

Rosabella Surapersadh and Skye van der Merwe were awarded theirs in April.
“We are so proud of all of you, you have all grown and matured so much over the years. Good luck as you continue onto Rangers,” said Panda Jolene.

This award is given to those who have shown great courage and endurance in adversity, and giving to Guiding over and above what was expected of her, and always thinking of others before herself.

“I received this award for my work I did within the community during Covid-19, the floods and the riots. I feel extremely honoured to receive this award, as less than 10 people in the country have been awarded this.”

Port Shepstone Teddies, Brownies, Girl Guides and Rangers have had a successful year.
The non-profit organisation which empowers girls and women to reach their full potential through a dynamic programme, to become responsible citizens has grown and continues to grow.

“We gained many guides and did lots of fun, outdoor activities,” said Panda Jolene.
