Taking a stand against GBV

Remember to report all crimes to your nearest police station.

The 16 Days of Activism campaign against gender-based violence (GBV) is an annual drive that runs from November 25 to December 10.

It is aimed at building and strengthening a global undertaking that seeks to end all practices of GBV by levitating consciousness on crimes against women and children.

“The 16 Days of Activism for no violence against women and children is part of the 365 days action plan to end the scourge of abuse against women and children,” explained Scottburgh Saps communications officer, Captain Adam Francis.

“The South African Police Service during this period with internal structures, the Women’s Network and Men for Change, junior management and internal youth will join forces to create greater awareness.”
An appeal is made to the public to report all abuse and violence, as a victim and also on behalf of someone that you know.

“Let us stand together and declare no to violence against women and children,” said Francis.
The public is reminded to report all crimes to the nearest police station, Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or the MySAPS app.
