Big win for Umzinto hip hop artist

Mc Exe was part of KZN's Got Talent.

Umzinto‘s very own songwriter, hip hop artist and vocalist, Xolani Mbhele, better known by his stage name Mc Exe, has made himself and his community proud by earning second place in the recent KZN’s Got Talent competition.

Mc Exe competed with about 50 other artists in the early stages of the competition. Thereafter he was part of the top 20. The finals was held in Ballito last month where he placed second and was handed a cheque of a whopping R10 000.

The artist has always been passionate about music, and after dropping his first two singles back in 2015, he has grown tremendously and made a solid name for himself in KZN.

When he is not busy with his music, he strives to better his community as an activist. MC Exe is also the chairperson of a local youth forum, chairperson of artists under the organisation called Cultural Creative Industrial Federation of South Africa and vice-secretary of the non-profit Laqhakaza Iphara which deals with addiction recovery.

“I have had an amazing journey so far and hope that things can only get bigger and better,” he said.
