Among distinguished guests was Prince Ntuthuko Zuzifa Buthelezi, the elder Buthelezi's son.

The IFP held a memorial prayer day for the late Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi at the Port Shepstone Civic Centre last Friday.

A stalwart of the IFP, Buthelezi died a month ago at the age of 95, after being ill for some time.

He was also the prime minister to the Zulu royal family from 1954 until his death.

President of the IFP Velenkosini Hlabisa said they have lost a true warrior and legend. He also emphasised that peace needs to prevail within the party and if they don’t see eye to eye, they need to sit down and talk.
