Maskandi festival a hit with fans

Festival goers were disappointed that Khuzani Mpungose, one of the most popular Maskandi artists did not make it.

Once again Siyabonga Mkhungo and his team shook the grounds at the third annual Ugu Maskandi Festival at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre last Saturday night.

This event brought together a number of people from KZN who had an amazing time with well-known Maskandi artists, media personalities and influencers.

The likes of Ntencane, MakaChicken, Zimdolar, Phuzekhemisi, Zama Mseleku and many others left the crowd wanting more.

The weather didn’t play its part, however it did not stop Maskandi lovers from enjoying the night and once it stopped raining everyone was back in a party mood.

Festival goers were disappointed that Khuzani Mpungose, one of the most popular Maskandi artists did not make it.

In a statement the organisers said: “We apologise to the fans who were eagerly looking forward to Khuzani Mpungose’s performance. We recognise his immense talent and popularity as an artist, and we share in the disappointment of his absence. Despite our best efforts and thorough planning, circumstances beyond our control led to his inability to attend the festival.”

Despite the disappointment, the show went on.
