Rotary hosts youth leaders at Sheppie High

Chris Korstens, Reg Horne and Scott Kvalsvig took time out of their busy schedules to inspire the learners about the significant work being done by Tidy Towns Shelly to Margate.

The Rotary Club of Port Shepstone is hosting its 58th Rotary Youth Leadership Course at Port Shepstone High School, with learners from around KZN.

On their first day, last Sunday, parents attended a session where the learners were welcomed and given rules and instructions for the week-long course, and left in the safe hands of their mentors and Rotarians.

Leaders learned about the Tidy Towns concept.

“We were excited to have three of our very own dynamic local businessmen address the learners about the importance of clean makes clean,” said Youth Director Shamin Maharaj.

Chris Korstens, Reg Horne and Scott Kvalsvig took time out of their busy schedules to inspire the learners about the significant work being done by Tidy Towns Shelly to Margate in an attempt to promote tourism, conserve the environment and prevent pollution, while creating employment and reducing crime.

“This concept has spread to other areas too. Getting our youth involved is especially important for our future. Well done to the Tidy Towns teams.”
