It’s a family affair at Spiller’s charity shop

The shop is filled with delightful treasures with proceeds helping to fund animal rescue work.

Wags and Whiskers animal rescue group is a wonderful ‘family affair’ helping to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals on the South Coast.

Raymond and Lee-Ann Bransby and their daughter, Rachael have recently taken over the running of Spiller’s Wharf charity shop which was run for many years by Penny Taylor of Harmony Hill.

The delightful charity shop is fun to browse and is filled with lots of second hand goodies such as jewellery, books, clothes, ornaments, picture frames, paintings and so much more.

It’s located at Port Shepstone’s Spiller’s Wharf on Sugar Mill Road.

The funds from the charity shop will help the family from Hibberdene who have a calling and are passionate to help those without a voice. The money raised assists in feeling many cats and dogs and other running costs.

“Since I was a small child this is what I’ve always wanted to do and over the years I’ve rescued many different types of animals,” said Lee-Ann.

Wags and Whiskers is not yet registered as a non-profit organisation but is working closely with The 3 R’s Rescue (NPO 278-849) based in Hibberdene.

Lee-Ann said that in the last five years of running the group, they have rescued and rehomed some 800 animals. They work closely with the state vet to get animals sterilised.

Spring is in the air, so clean out your cupboards, and if you have any second hand items that you would like to donate, the Bransbys will collect.

They will take also books and even broken electrical appliances.
