The IFP in Ugu District is mourning the loss of Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi who died in Ulundi last Saturday.
Buthelezi died at the age of 95 and had been ill for some time.

Leader of the IFP in the region, Sfundo Ngwane said it is not easy to accept the passing of Umntwana WakwaPhindangeni because as the organisation, they still needed him.
Ngwane said Buthelezi did a lot for the country including Ugu.

“He built several schools including the now Gamalakhe College. Back then, the college was a training centre for educators.”

Ngwane said among other things that Buthelezi will be remembered for are the 6000 schools, colleges and a university that he built.

“He also played a very big role in protecting and supporting Amakhosi and their lands.”

Buthelezi will also be remembered as the prime minister to the Zulu royal family from 1954 until his death.
There was heated discussions on social media platforms after some people raised the wrongs that happened during his leadership, one being the killing of people, including the Shobashobane massacre.
