Lead role for Gamalakhe actor

It has been a dream come true for Ndumiso Khowa who is inspired by Sir Jet Novuka.

Gamalakhe actor, Ndumiso Khowa who is well-known for his Uzalo television soapie character, Raphael has earned himself a lead role in a new series, Impande.

Khowa has been acting for four years, and in Impande he will play the role of Sambulo Khoza, a gangster chief who harvests body parts and sells them to the highest bidder.

In the series, he has a cover-up business, running a truck company which he inherited from his late grandfather who was killed by his grandmother.

“The series is currently being shot in Mnambithi (Ladysmith) as it focuses on showcasing the hinterland. In the story there are many new faces and some familiar ones. It is produced by the renowned Thembinkosi Thwala, an actor who plays Mondli, a policeman in Uzalo.

“Thwala was born in Ladysmith and has a vision of developing the talents of young actresses and actors from across KZN,” Khowa added.

He said in Uzalo he played the role of a car thief, transporting cars to international destinations. In the new role he is also criminal, however this time his clients are international.

He says playing a lead character is a dream come true, however one of his other dreams is to act alongside Sir Jet Novuka as he has inspired him into storytelling, and is also his mentor.

The first season of Impande has been shot and a trailer is now available, as the series will air in September.
Khowa said that auditions for the second season are underway in Ladysmith and open to everyone, follow Impande on Facebook.

“People can look forward to a series which tells the true story of a family obsessed with money and power, leading to disputes.”

He said as the series grows, they might even come to the South Coast to scout for talent.
